New addition: Harry Nilsson – Knnillssonn (1977)

knillssonnThe story goes that after several years in the creative wilderness, RCA were really excited when they heard this.  Harry’s return.  Unfortunately, though, events conspired against Harry and Knnillssonn was released to little fanfare and via the backdoor as Elvis Presley left the building.

I spotted this today in the Record Fayre and was pretty pleased to get it home and have a spin.  It’s much like his pre-Grammy Schmilsson work.  The music bounces along and the string arrangements that surround the songs are incredible, too.  Who Done It? also happens to be one of those quintessential Harry songs.  That stood out on first listen.

… we had a fair chat this evening about the cover.  It sorta makes you feel somewhat out of sorts.  Dizzy, even.
